Ewa Oney | Team Leader, DG for Mobility and Transport | European Commission
Ewa Oney is the Team Leader for sustainable aviation matters in the European Commission’s DG Mobility and Transport (previously space, energy intensive industries, raw materials policies). Prior to her work at the European Commission, Ewa worked as a senior consultant at Price Waterhouse Cooper and as technical associate at the International Accounting Standards board.
Felix Kunz | Head, Electrochemical Process and Systems Technology Department | Forschungszentrum Jülich
Felix Kunz is Head of the Department Electrochemical Process and System Technology at Forschungszentrum Jülich with a PhD in the field of fuel cells from the University of Duisburg-Essen. Prior to his work at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Felix served as Manager for Public Subsidies in the field of hydrogen at Uniper and Managing Director of the Profile Area Energy, Chemical and Process Engineering as well as Manager of the Research Area Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Technology at RWTH Aachen University.
Mathias Boesl | Co-founder | Spark e-Fuels
Mathias is Co-Founder and CEO of the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) startup Spark e-Fuels. Spark’s ambition is to reduce the full eco-impact of aviation (CO2 and non-CO2) by producing sustainable and affordable e-fuels at-scale via an integrated and modular end-to-end production process. Mathias has been active in the development and commercialization of green technologies throughout his career, including e-fuels, nuclear fusion, fuel cell cars and photovoltaics. Prior to founding Spark e-Fuels he worked as Senior Consultant for The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) focusing on strategy and business development for Industrial Goods and Technology clients. Mathias holds a PhD in physics (nuclear fusion) from TU Munich / Max-Planck Institute and an MBA from Collège des Ingénieurs (Paris, Munich, Turin).
Hortense Becheux | Business Development Manager| EIT InnoEnergy
Over the past 3 years, Hortense has been working within EIT InnoEnergy, the world’s largest investor in sustainable energy innovations and backed by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
She has been a Business Development Manager helping startups in renewable energies to get business opportunities through the French market, mainly in biomass, mobility and rooftop wind turbines. Prior to this, she worked in the field of innovative startups support within the startup accelerator of the major French bank Crédit Agricole. She’s now working as Business Development Manager for the European Green Hydrogen Accelerator Center (EGHAC), created by EIT InnoEnergy and supported by Breakthrough Energy. Hortense holds a BA of Law from University of Paris and a MSc in Management from University School of Management in Grenoble.
